Red Wings game

Rob's friend at work was selling Red Wings tickets at a discounted price for a fund raiser for his kids school. Rob surprised us all with tickets for last Friday night. The seats were awesome as there are no bad seats at Joe Louis Arena. We had a lot of fun but these are the only two pictures I got to take before my battery died.

Soccer can hurt!

On Wednesday Emily was playing soccer in gym class like any other day. She went for the ball and accidentally kicked a boy in the shin and stubbed her toe. In the second game a different boy accidentally stepped on that same toe. When she came home limping I took her up to urgent care for an x-ray and sure enough there is a little fracture in her big toe.

I thought the best thing would be that she doesn't have to play soccer but she loves this stylish new shoe. It kind of looks like a tennis shoe but it is way more ugly in person.

If you have ever had a broken toe you know there is nothing to do but buddy tape them together. Her purple polish matches her purple swollen toe.

Honor Society

I am so proud of both of my kids. With in a week we found out both of our kids were accepted in to the Society.

Jeremy holding his acceptance letter to the National Junior Honor Society. He will be inducted at the end of the school year.

Emily holding her induction letter to the National Honor Society. She was inducted on Thursday October 27, 2011. Yes, those are crutches behind her. She broke her big toe playing soccer in gym class on Wednesday.

Oh Heck!

Jeremy didn't realize his own strength. After weeks of conditioning in football, Jeremy went to open the fridge and ended up with the handle in his hand. We laughed about it until we found out that to replace it would cost $63.00!

Sweetest Day and REALLY!

Rob was working hard so Jeremy ended up being my date. We went to On the Border for dinner and had dessert at home.

I love my husband, really I do, but REALLY! He came this close to the basket, this is so frustrating!

Homecoming 2011

Emily's dress was purple underneath with a shear black shimmery overlay. We did her nails purple with silver crackle over them. All of her jewelry was black roses. Oh, did I mention that the theme was A Haunted Homecoming?

Emily & Elyse

Such pretty girls.

Silly girls!

Her shoes were sparkly too.

Back to the 80"s

Totally, For sure! The church had a retro dance and this was our attempt to travel back to the 80's. I took the picture before we tied the lime green lace bow in here hair. I think we did a good job capturing the look.

Let's get walking!

Team Emily's Hope hit the pavement for the 3rd year in a row. We had a beautiful overcast day and were glad it didn't rain on us.

The official team this year: Back row: Jeremy, Erin, Jake and Joe. Middle: Rob, Michelle, Donna and Emily. Front: Sydnie and Yvonne. Mom was our official cheerleader.

On the way home Emily was tuckered out. With my brothers step son Justin being diagnosed this past weekend we plan to be out here every year until we find a CURE!!

Life Scout

Jeremy has been working hard and recently earned the rank of Life Scout. He is now working on his Eagle Scout. His goal is to earn that before his birthday in May.

This was an activity that they had to work together and communicate to get out of the knots. It was very fun to watch. I'm just glad Rob was there so I didn't have to do it.

Football

That's my boy! Number 40 is Jeremy. He is on the school's football team. He is the wide receiver. Those long legs of his have been a great asset. Right now with only one game left to play they are undefeated. Let's go Pirates!

It must be Michigan

Labor Day 2011. We were planning to head out and do some fun things when I realized the way we were dressed. From Jeremy's shorts to Emily's jacket we had all seasons covered. I must say that Emily and Rob had the correct outfit on for the day. I was warm enough but Jeremy was freezing!

Back to School

It's that time of year when fall is just around the corner and mothers every where start singing "It's the most wonderful time of the year!" Jeremy is starting off the year with another growth spurt and is now pushing 5'10". He will be in the 8th grade and can not wait to start high school next year.

Emily is heading into the 11th grade and none of us can believe that we are coming close to the end of her high school days. We are on the merry go round that is your Junior year with testing and looking at colleges. Will someone please slow this ride down, I would like to get off please.

This is the face I get at 6:30 in the morning.
