Hollywood Studio 12/28/11

As you enter Hollywood studio's you see Mickey's sorcerer's hat.
This is 1/3 of the stunt show stage. It is an action packed half hour show.
During Christmas they set up the Osbourne family spectacle of lights. It is breathtaking! The cool part is that every 10 minutes the lights turn on and off in sync with music. This is modeled after the Osbourne family of Arkansas who were the first family to do a light display to this magnitude on their house.

Everything gets lights. The bikes, wagons, tire swing, basketball hoop etc...
Glad to see that they include the true meaning of Christmas in their display.
Hollywood studios tree was decorated in movie scenes.

Animal Kingdom 12/28/11

I forgot to take a picture of the Animal Kingdom's tree in the day time. It had all kind of animal ornaments on it.
This is the tree of life. It has hundreds of carvings of animals on it. It is so big that they show a movie on the inside of it called "It's tough to be a bug."
While crossing a bridge you can see so many beautiful fish in an assortment of colors
This is the baby gorilla. He was very playful.
How does Jeremy measure up to a 6 year old lowland gorilla? His hands were almost as big, his feet were bigger, he was the same height and his wing span was just a little smaller.

This waterfall comes through the gorilla meadow.
This is a crowned crane
When you go on safari you get to ride in one of these jeeps. You are warned to stay seated and not to eat or drink anything while out on the savanna.
This baby giraffe was checking out this termite mound.
These are Gnu's
I was waiting for this elephant to spray us with water but she didn't
Rhino's having lunch.
A river that runs through the park. When we were on safari the animals were right there. You could almost lean out and touch them.

December 27, 2011

We decided that it was a good day to laze around and not do much of anything. We went to Wal-Mart, had Taco Bell for lunch, saw Sherlock Holmes at the movies and had Uno's pizza for dinner. It was raining cats and dogs so we were limited on things to do outside.

A few things I have learned on this vacation:

1. Hotel rooms can be too small. With growing kids our first room was just too small so we hopped to a different hotel with rooms twice the size and only $75.00 more for the week.

2. Not all Disney bathrooms are clean. Usually Disney bathrooms are spotless. Unfortunately we went in the one that was gross. It was right up there with the one in Georgia that had a shower curtain for a door.

3. Some people are despicable! We found over and over again people renting wheelchairs and then claiming disability to get to the front of the very very very long lines in the parks.

4. There are a few good people out there. At Hollywood studios the kids wanted to go on two roller coasters that are very popular. With wait times of over an hour and a half each they had to chose the one they would ride. While in that very long line a nice couple, Kirsten and Jeremy, asked if the kids and Rob would like to join them at the front of the line with their ride pass. They then took them on the other roller coaster too.

5. Gorilla's don't care who's watching when it comes to love, if you get my drift.

6. I don't want to go back to the cold in Michigan. Can't we just stay here?

A Disney first for us

In all the years we have been visiting Disney we have never seen this event. It happens every night at 5:00. We were just arriving to the park and stopped to watch. I found it neat to see hundreds of people of all nationalities stopping to watch our flag be retired for the night.

I didn't realize until I posted this that the lady standing in front of me had on a halter top and looks naked in all of my pictures. Sorry.

Magic Kingdom 12/26/11

Mickey and Minnie have clothes on at Magic Kingdom.
SO Beautiful!
All four of these crazies crammed into one tea cup and had a blast.
When I asked Emily why her and Sarah didn't just get their own cup she said "Because dad makes it spin so fast."

The kids.
Emily, Me, Rob and Jeremy. As you can see the castle changes colors.
Looking down Main Street was pretty. This picture does not do it justice. It was "snowing" on our way out.
We went in the hat shop to look for some "ears" for my sister and I caught Jeremy trying on a few. Mad Hatter or Cpt. Jack Sparrow?

Epcot 12/26/11

Jeremy tried to raise the Epcot "ball"
This is a cute savings game we played at Epcot. You take your piggy around and play games while learning how to save your money.
Jeremy and I were a team and Rob and Emily were a team. It was very fun.
Somehow I missed these beautiful arches when I was here in February.
Emily knocked at the door but no one answered. After the picture Jeremy said "Hey, did you see there was a door knocker."
This is a clown/mime that performs in the Italy section. He was funny.
These ladies are called Taiko drummers. I'm not sure if that is the type of drum they are playing or the style they are playing. They sounded awesome!
All of the parks have a huge decorated tree. This one had ornaments from all of the countries represented at Epcot,
Their gardeners are so talented.

Lego's

This post is for our friends who LOVE Lego's. Every bit of these designs are made out of Lego's. Even the platforms are made of Lego's.

I missed one of the dwarfs on this one. I will have to go back and get a pic of him.

Yes, even the flames and ledge are made from Lego's. Emily has decided that she wants to be a Lego master when she grows up.
