Christmas 2008

This year Christmas for my side of the family was at our house. So

to get the kids settled down we decorated cookies. This is Jeremy

frosting his cookies.

This year Rob and I finally gave in and bought our families first ever gaming system. The kids were so geeked when they opened it. We opted for the Guitar Hero world tour because it came with 2 guitars. Emily and Jeremy quickly laid claims on a guitar and decorated them with stickers to make them their own.

Emily tried out the game with her personalized guitar.

Jeremy is all smiles as he tries out the game. I must say that I have already heard "Eye of the Tiger" one too many times. I even caught Rob singing it in the car when we went to pick up dinner. We also picked up the motorcross game from the cheap bin at Wal-Mart so Rob and Jeremy had loads of fun crashing into each other.

SNOW is a four letter word!

Ok, so this is the back end of Rob's old truck. If you notice at the left of the picture the snow is half covering his tire. We were dumped on with a foot of snow Friday December 19, 2008.

Emily is queen of the hill! This is one of the many mounds of snow the plow guy left us. This is at the neighbors drive way. The mound puts her at about half the height of the tree.

Jeremy is showing off the depth of the snow in our driveway. It is seriously just about to his butt. I was a little peeved because it had started snowing very early in the morning and the plows didn't come until 4:00 p.m. and that meant no school and no leaving the house.

My musical duo

Emily is once again playing in the percussion section of her schools band. She has been section leader for all three years of junior high. She thinks that is cool because she leads 3 boys and one girl. This is the best picture we could take because you are not allowed to use flash photography in the auditorium. Rock On Em!!

This is Jeremy with his friend Kevin. Can you tell that they are at their schools holiday sing? They both looked thrilled to be there. Jeremy is playing Cello this year so watch in the spring for pictures of his concert.

Christmas Pageant

This year the church did their annual Christmas pageant. Even though Jeremy is only ten he is the oldest boy in Primary. That means that he is Joseph. This is him with Mary (Madeline Walker). Emily would like to add that baby Jesus was played by her favorite doll George. I want to share that Jeremy expressed some reserve about playing Joseph because he is tan skinned. Our good friend Jill told him that he may be an authentic Joseph because people from that area in the world have tan skin. That made him proud to be Joseph. Thanks Jill!

Our Ski Adventure

Jeremy was a little stand-offish at first but once we had our lesson he was fine.

Emily the snow bunny!

Emily was by far the natural in our group. She took off

and never looked back.

We had such a fun weekend in Boyne. The snow was deep, the weather

was perfect. Todd our instructor was awesome! I

think we have found a new way to spend Thanksgiving together.
