Fun at Greenfield Village

On Saturday Emily and I headed to Greenfield Village to meet up with Rita and Sarah.  As you can see from the pictures we have been doing this for years.  The above picture is from the summer of 2000.  My how our little girls have grown into beautiful young women.  Sarah is graduating this year and Emily will graduate next year.  I hope they still get together as they grow older.

Well it's about time!

My mom made the curtain for my bathroom.  This is the print.  The blues match the other blues in the room and the green is my little pop of color.

And looky there, I painted the molding and Rob installed it this weekend.  I can officially say the bathroom is DONE!

Induction

Where's Jeremy?

So handsome and grown up.

Heading to get his award and pin.

It's official, he is a member of the National Junior Honor Society.

Ummm......guys, the camera is this way.

Let's get busy!

 Putting in the mulch.

The bark was coming off this tree and Emily said "Hey, that looks like bacon."

Hauling out the trash.

The flower bed closest to the front door.  After hours of work is done.  There were actual plants under all those weeds.

The huge flower bed in the front yard.  All cleaned out, re-mulched and new edging.  We put down lawn patch where the flower bed had taken over.

The bed by the garage with the bushes all trimmed and new mulch in.

New gate built from scratch, new posts cemented in, new hinges, and a new latch.  Project DONE!

The project begins

So here are some of the before pictures taken at beneficiary 1's home.  The basement has an issue with flooding so many things got wet and needed to be hauled out and put in the dumpster.

The food storage needed to be sorted and most of it had to be tossed because it was expired

The outside was no better.  This was the main flower bed just outside the front door.  We discovered that this is where the dog had resorted to doing his business also.

This flower bed sits out in the front of the house and was just so over grown.

This flower bed runs along the side of the garage.

This is the last flower bed that had fallen apart.  It is on the side of the house by the garage.

This is her gate and it is off it's hinges and dilapidated.

Between the time the above pictures were taken and the time we showed up there to work things had only gotten worse.

The guys got right into tearing down the bricks so they could re-build them and make them look nice.

12 yards of mulch at the start of the day.
