Birthday Presents

This is a jean jacket that Emily fell in love with

so we surprised her with it.

Gotta love the pj's, they just make the outfit!

Jeremy bought Emily a wallet for her new purse.

And he gave her the gift of idea's. You may wonder about this gift but it is just what she needed. My mom and sister Yvonne had given her a gift card to redo her bedroom and she needed idea's, so Jeremy went to Home Depot and pulled every paint color combo card. Now she has lots to choose from.

Lastly, he gave her a favorite treat. Reeses that break off like Hershey bars.

Birthday Video

My friend LeeAnne had made a couple of videos for her girls at Christmas time and I love them. I asked her to help me put together one for Emily's 16th birthday. With a little help from her husband Dave this is the finished product. We played this at Emily's birthday party and it is on Facebook. I still can't believe that my chubby baby is a a big girl .... I mean a beautiful young woman.

It's a Party in the USA !

For Emily's 16th birthday she wanted to have a dance party. I rented the local community center and with the help of my sister Yvonne we put together a pretty awesome party. Our friend Dave was our DJ and the kids had a blast.

The Macarena

How low can you go!

This was not the bunny hop. They were

just being silly at this point.

Cousin Erin and Emily

Rob's prank. He told a long story about how he

was able to pull some strings and get Emily

her license early. It's her FISHING license.

Aunt Yvonne was able to get Jeremy to agree

to a picture with his sister.

Crap!! I had a picture of her cake in here but of

course I have managed to delete it.

An Early Birthday Present

I have talked many times in previous posts about my aunt Rita and my cousin Sarah. We do a lot together since the girls are only 1 year apart in age. For Emily's birthday they wanted to do something special since it is her Sweet 16. We met for lunch at Rainforest Cafe' then they took Emily over to the Coach store. Emily was allowed to pick any bag she wanted. This is her choice. I love it and the leather is so soft! She smiled all the way home and couldn't wait to dump out her current purse to fill her new one. THANK YOU Rita and Sarah!!

Piston's game

One of the Detroit Piston's players, Ben Wallace, likes to donate tickets to the American Diabetes Association. We took advantage of his donation and we went last Wednesday night. Rob had to work so Emily took her friend Justice with us. It was a fun night and I loved that it was $1.00 hot dog night too. I think I spent a total of $25.00 and that included the $10.00 parking fee.

Before you look at both of these pictures you have to know something. I was very tired when the boys reminded me that they needed haircuts. I had worked an event all day and really just wanted to go to bed. I did Jeremy's hair first and this is the first time we had to actually shave Jeremy's sideburns with a razor. We had Rob do that part since Jeremy and I have never shaved our faces before. Before you judge me and this next picture please remember that I was very tired. I had cut Rob's hair with the #4 guard on and he complained it wasn't short enough so I went ahead and re-cut his hair with the #2 guard on. When I am finished buzzing the boys hair I take the guard off and do the back of their necks and over their ears. Well, while I was doing this to Rob I saw a couple of long hairs and, well .............
This is what happens!! I cried! He sported this awful haircut until this week when we noticed that it wasn't so noticeable. Love ya Babe!

Disney Day 3

Thursday was the best weather again. Thursday also brought the sadness that we would be leaving for freezing cold Michigan the next day. We headed to the Magic Kingdom to see the Marching band perform. It was awesome because our family has seen so many parades at Disney and now it was Emily's turn to march the parade route. The landscapers are just amazing with the art that they come up with to make every garden interesting.
Cinderella's castle is the first thing you see when you enter the park.

Here they come!

There's Emily!

More band students.

So, Toon town is under construction and the only way to get a picture is from the Dumbo ride.

This was my Dumbo. Purple of course.

Cinderella's castle is even under construction. All the things that were being worked on makes me want to go back when everything is done.

This is a hidden treasure. It is Cinderella's fountain. It is beautiful and you have to know where to find it to see it.

I had to take a picture of my favorite Disney characters. I don't know who the lady was but you can't see her face so no big deal.

Disney Day 2

Wednesday brought us more sunny weather and a concert at Downtown Disney. This is the major shopping area for all things Disney. This is concert band 1. They are the top band in our school. Emily is in the back with the rest of the percussion section.
Emily is the 1st girl on the end in the back. She is playing the xylophone.

This is the sign with the daily line up of performers.

These are just a few things I thought were cool. Before you scroll down can you guess what they are?

Major Tinkertoys!

Hmmmm.... whose smile is that?

Mr. Potato Head!

This is a lego guy. They constructed a tent because the lego store is under construction. These guys are running all around the outside of the tent.

ARRGGGG!

Disney Trip with my Mom

I was so excited to go to Florida in February with my mom to see Emily and her music department perform at Disney. After a very long day at the airport we arrived on Monday evening and got ready for the week ahead of us. The following pictures are from Epcot. In all my years of going to Disney we rarely stopped to enjoy the sights at Epcot. With my mom we stopped at every one. I was surprised at the beautiful architecture I found. This is our adventure on Tuesday, Enjoy! Oops, I put the two "ball" pictures in reverse order.
At Epcot you can "travel" around the world. There are 11 countries to visit so I picked one picture from each one to share with you. This is Mexico and an aztec pyramid.

This is Norway.

This is China

This is Germany

This is Italy, I thought I had a better picture but I guess not.

This is America

This is Japan

This is Morocco. I loved the tile work. Below is a picture of the tile work around the fountain.

This is France, can you see the Eiffel tower?

This is the United Kingdom. There is more to it but I liked this unique phone booth.

This is Canana

Now that you have gone around the world let's go to visit Nemo.

This exhibit is called the Living Sea and it has all kids of cool marine life. I found Nemo!

This is the "ball" in the day time.
