Early graduation surprise
Hmmmm.......what could this be? Today a package arrived for Miss Emily.
Carefully opening it. The box said Do Not Crush.
Totally awesome!!!
Emily got her first set of "ears" on our first visit to Disney when she was 11 months old. If you know anything about the Wharton's you know that we have been back to Disney every year since. So, it was only fitting to mark this occasion in Emily's life with graduation ears. Thanks to Aunt Rita and her helper elves who made this possible. She not only sent one set of ears, she sent two!
Select 50
Select 50 is a complete honor. The Waterford Foundation asks the teachers from both of our high schools to select 25 students from their school who show citizenship, leadership and have great academics. Out of all of the students, the ones who received the most votes make up the select 25. Then on a special night they and their families are invited to come for dinner and be presented with an award. The above picture is of the group. For once they seated the kids in reverse order and they put the W's up front which gave me the chance to get a picture.
Because my little point and shoot is not great for the dark auditorium and apparently I was shaking just a bit this picture is blurry. This is Emily with her principal.
We snagged a balloon from the event and I snapped this picture of Emily holding it.

Something new
I have been wanting to do something like this for over a year now. I have had all the frames sitting in my living room for just about as long. I finally got the drive to get it done. The empty frame will have one of Emily's senior pictures in it.
How renting a dvd can cost you $2,000.00
We rented a movie and when we popped it in to watch it it started skipping. I had Emily run it back up to the store in my car and when she was turning into the parking lot she was hit. So this is how renting a dvd can cost you $2,000.00. Lucky for us we only had to pay our deductible. Unlucky for us, Emily's car blew it's engine earlier the same week.
Sweet
The young men got together and made these treats for their moms for Valentines day. They made and frosted the cookies and wrapped them up with some other yummy chocolates. It really made me feel like the luckiest mom.
This Stinks!
This much snow....
plus a broken one of these......
equals this. Poor Jeremy has had a rough winter shoveling snow since the snow blower broke beyond repair. We just keep telling him that he is building some great muscles.
Flowers
So what do you get when you are totally stressed out and need a break? Beautiful flowers from you husband.
Legos!
Burj Khalifa in Dubai
Ford Field in Detroit
Transamerica Pyramid
Gateway Arch in St. Louis
Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater in Pennsylvania
My future Architect! The Henry Ford Museum hosted the Lego exhibit this winter and we have seen different exhibits when we travel. It was really awesome and it makes you wonder how they do this. For an aspiring architect it was something Emily really wanted to go to.
Happy New Year
I realize it is March but I have been lazy about catching up on the blog. This is our annual picture of the kids ringing in the new year. To be completely honest, this picture was taken a few days later from recorded t.v. because Emily was out at a party and Jeremy was in bed.
