Breathe!

Yes, this is Jeremy's room and if you know me then you know that I am trying really hard not to scream. I hate a messy room but Jeremy assures me that he is working on a school project. You can see from the picture that he has no problem with the mess. I just want him to get up in the middle of the night and step on one of those Lincoln logs.

Heart Attack

I wanted to do something special for the kids for Valentines day. They have out grown all the cutesie ideas I have done in the past so I remembered this from a church activity a few years back. I went to the elementary school and cut out the hearts. Rob and I wrote 5 things about each kid that we LOVE and stuck them to their door. They were surprised when they came home from school to see their doors. The best part was that we left 5 blank hearts on their door and had their sibling write the 5 things they LOVE about each other. The final result is that they have 15 things that we LOVE about them to remind them that they are LOVED!

Living it Up

For Valentines day Rob used his casino points to book an over night at the MGM hotel and casino downtown. I wasn't expecting much for our "free" room so I was really surprised when we walked in to this. This bed was SOOOOOO comfortable! I slept 11 hours straight on its fluffy greatness.
Under the T.V. is a cabinet. On the left is a little fridge with a combination on it. I can only assume that it held a mini bar. The other side is drawers.
This is Rob on the purple, yes purple, couch. I was trying to get a picture of the view. It was kind of cloudy out so it didn't turn out so good. We could see the bridge to Canada.
The loo was enclosed with frosted glass. I don't know what the telephone was for. The frosted wall on the right was shared with the shower that you could seriously put 6 people in.
When we first walked in the bathroom Rob thought the black box in the middle of the mirror was a make up mirror but I noticed the remote and turned on the T.V. You can not take pictures in the casino but that's ok because I could only handle being in there for a very short time because people could smoke in there. We went to Wolfgang Puck's for dinner. I almost had a stroke when I saw the $107.00 bill. Once again the points paid for it. I told Rob that I have always wanted to order breakfast from room service but could never justify the cost. Since the points would pay for breakfast we went ahead and ordered. Scrambled eggs, toast, sausage and Tuscan potatoes cost $51.00!
I had to include a picture of my skinny $5.00 cup of milk. I told Rob that I could buy 2 gallons of milk with what we paid for 1 glass of milk. It kind of made me sick. When all was said and done our $435.00 over night was completely paid for with points. The only thing we paid was a total of $36.00 in tips. The best part is that Rob has enough points for us to do this again but I will skip the room service and have the breakfast buffet instead.

Now that's Talent

Emily has 2 turtles and the big one is named Speedy. He does some really odd things and this just made us laugh. His tail is in the way in picture one but in picture two you can see that he is doing the splits. Usually when he is hanging out at the bottom of the tank he pulls his legs in but I guess he wanted to show off his skills.

New Tub

This is when we discovered that the tub was too big for our opening. I had just got home and read the box which said it was 32" not the expected 30".
So the new tub came out and I got the chance to take a picture of the cement foundation Rob put down and I also noticed that the insulation didn't look too good.
After Rob "made a few adjustments" aka he ripped out some drywall he put in new insulation and ta -da! The tub now fits!
This is the new hole in my closet. When Rob was done he made this and access door so he could address any future problem. He also installed shut off valves.
The shower walls are in!
The new hole in the kitchen ceiling. It is the only way to reach the trap for the tub. I'm glad I never painted the kitchen ceiling last summer.
DONE! Hardware installed & caulking done. Now I need to touch up some of the paint.
