You came to live with us on December 23, 2005. You were not bigger than the size of a half dollar coin. Emily was so excited to get two turtles for Christmas. You were the quieter of the two and usually took your time swimming around and eating your food so she named you Shy. Your tank mate was more spastic and gobbled up his food so he was quickly named Speedy. For six and a half years we have grown to love you and even became protective of you. A few months ago you suffered an injury that caused you to have a swollen neck. Just a few weeks ago we noticed that your neck was back to normal and we were so happy that you were healing. Today, June 5, 2012 you returned to heaven where you will be well and have plenty of space to swim and sun yourself. We will miss you and so will Speedy. He has spent most of the day looking for you.
