Chicago part 5 - The Field Museum

If you ever have the chance to go to Chicago, check out this museum. We spent hours going through all of their exhibits. These are just of few of the things that caught my eye.

The elephants.

The totem poles.

They had this huge whale balloon as you came in the museum. He takes up the width of the main hall.

The infamous Sue!

We loved the dinosaur exhibits.

Chicago part 4 - Shedd Aquarium

The Shedd Aquarium. Jeremy has always loved fish, big and small. He has said that he wants to be an Oceanographer when he grows up.

A big fish that you can find in Lake Michigan.

I can't remember if this is a Iguana or Kimono dragon. It's some sort of lizard.

NEMO!

The sharks moved so quick I couldn't get a great picture of them.

These were beautiful whales. They were all white and for the life of me I can't remember what type they are. This is a mama and a baby.

Chicago part 3 - Navy Pier

Navy Pier had lots to see. I love the different art work and statues and the interesting people.

These two are so interesting and colorful.

This is a DJ. It was pretty warm on this day but the shorty shorts were a little much.

I made Emily put this little guy in a choke hold. His expression was perfect for this.

The things I make my family do for a picture. I think the artist really hoped someone would do this. I mean, why else would he leave a gap in the sculpture.

I think the title should be "foot in mouth".

This just made me smile!

The big Ferris wheel on the pier.

Chicago part 2 - The view

I love taking in the view of a huge city. Chicago did not let me down.

This is just as we walked up to Navy Pier.

From the end of Navy Pier looking back on the city.

My two cuties stopping for a picture on the pier.

More from the Pier.

The view from the Shedd Aquarium.

The magnificent mile (Michigan Ave).

This is the old water tower. It sits in the middle of Michigan Ave.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn in the Sun Times building. The hotel starts on the 15th floor and this is the view that surrounded us. These pictures were taken at dusk.

The canal that runs through the city.

Chicago part 1 Lego Store

I've been wanting to get this posted but I just haven't been feeling well lately. I am going to post our Chicago trip in lumps. I am starting with the fun Lego store. It never ceases to amaze me what people can do with Lego's!

I would expect this one in Florida, but here it is in Chicago.

Ok, so I put these in the wrong order. This is the middle of the Chicago skyline and yes, this is all done in Lego's.

This is the right end of the city scape.

This is the left side of the city scape.

Watch out Indy! That snake looped through the whole store.

The Windy city!

19 years

On July 29, Rob and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary. So what do you get your spouse after 19 years? Practical things that's what!

The faucet in the kitchen sprung a leak a few days before our anniversary and was spraying water out the side of the neck when ever we turned it on. So this is the nice, shiny new faucet I have. I like the high scoop. It makes it easier to fill my stock pot.

When it is summer and Rob starts wearing shorts for work he has to have official brown socks. The problem is that they are expensive. For 6 pair I paid a lovely $32.00. It is the only part of his required uniform that we have to pay for.

Bedroom re-do 3

When you have the most awesome dad ever you leave for girls camp and leave him a list of things to do in your bedroom. One of the things on Emily's list was to outfit her closet with 10 shelves. 5 on each side. She left the measurements she wanted and this is how it turned out.

The UPS man hard at work.
