Kettering Prom 2013
Emily and Johnathan at his home.
You may notice that Johnathan doesn't have a boutonniere on. That is because it was at our house in the fridge!
We went to a local park and took some picture there.
Luckily there was a Kroger just one mile from this park so I ran and purchased another boutonniere before they left for the Prom.
Emily's corsage was beautiful!

Yes I did
I was looking for an inexpensive way to have centerpieces at Emily's graduation party. So this is what I came up with. I will admit that I saw something similar at a online party supplies store but they were very expensive. So, you go to Home Depot and pick up one black irrigation pipe. They are about $6.00. You then cut it every six ribs.
You then line it with a plastic treat bag. You can get 20 of these for $1.00 at Wal-Mart.
You then get two black poster boards at Wal-Mart for .97 each. You cut them into squares then cut a circle in the middle.
Then you get out your trusty glue gun.
You glue the poster board to the plastic bag and let it dry a few seconds.
You of course stopped at Jo-Ann's to pick up embroidery floss in your schools color. They are .40 each. I'm glad that all three of these stores are in the same plaza here.
You cut the floss into even sections and make it look like a tassel. Honestly if I could do it so can you. You attach the tassel to the poster board with a dab of hot glue and WA-la! You now have a centerpiece for your tables that you can fill with candy. We are putting M&M's, Skittles and Reeses pieces in ours. I am absolutely not a crafty person so I am really proud of myself. In total I spent $9.95 and made 15 of these. The final cost was just .66 cents each!
OLE'
We had our first Cinco de Mayo celebration at our house and this is what we made. Jeremy's plate had taquitos, Mexican chicken and refried beans.
Now that's one happy Mexican boy.
Yummy, made from scratch, Mexican rice.
Emily finishing off everything on her plate.
The only problem with making everything from scratch!
Pumpkin Chunckin
This is Emily, Kevin and Jonathan. They worked together in their physics class to build a trebuchet. They were put together as a team because they were not allowed to work alone.
They then had to launch a tennis ball a certain distance. When they were testing it out at our house they were flinging potatoes.
They earned a 95 out of 100 on the actual trebuchet. They now have a report due that is worth 200. I found it funny that the other kids who did not want to work with them when it came time to pick teams were wishing they had one of these brainiacs on their team.

Epic fail
My first born and only daughter turned 18 on Saturday. We had fun with her friends Kiera, Johnathan and Jason. They went go carting and putt putt golfing. We had dinner at a local pizza joint and came home to watch a movie and have waffle cakes and ice cream. With all of that you would think I would document it better than this. Yep, these are the only 2 pictures taken on my baby girls 18th birthday. Looks like no mother of the year award yet again this year.
I'm a little crazy and I know it
I love my daughter so much that when I saw these at the store I thought "Orange cake!" Emily's favorite color has always been orange and I just couldn't believe my eyes that they actually have orange cake mix. And just my luck it was only days before her 18th birthday.
I baked them up.
And frosted them.
And then we ate them. Let me just say they are delicious!!
