Yeah Baby!

I am a super proud boasting mama. Emily couldn't control her happiness when she opened her ACT scores. She thought she was going to get a 26 or 27 but surprise she got a 32!
A perfect score is 36 so this should help her get into the college she wants and hopefully a few scholarships.

Oh the places you'll go....

or not. Over the past year Emily has received a ton of mail from various colleges. She has kept them all and today we decided to get rid of them. We marked all of the colleges on a map and saw that all but three were from the eastern half of the country. She made a note that the college she is hoping to attend has not even sent her one flyer, is that a good thing? Since we still have a year and a half before she will even be able to start a college we are looking forward to seeing who else sends us mail.

Well on his way to Eagle Scout

This is Jeremy and his Scout master Phil Wiles. He always has great things to say about Jeremy.
One of the activities was for the boys to ride little bikes through a course. I must say that Jeremy on this princess bike was just hilarious.
With the 7 merit badges he earned Wednesday night he has all of the required and optional badges to do his Eagle project. Then that is it, he will have earned his Eagle. He is hoping to have it done by his 14th birthday which is May 26th.

8th Grade Music Festival

Jeremy's Orchestra received an overall 2. Not bad for their first festival.
Jeremy was so thrilled for me to take his picture.
I had to snap this picture real quick before they started playing.

Destination Imagination

Once again I have the pictures in reverse order, I swear one day I will get this right. This is Emily's team during their competition on Saturday. The above picture is when Emily puts a curse on the kid on the floor.
This is Emily getting in trouble from her master for worshipping an idol in his home. She is also losing her wig.
Emily is waiting for her scene to start. She is a slave who is caught worshipping her idol (note the poster of Justin Beiber)
This is the team. They did two poses, a silly and a normal.
Destination Imagination is an awesome program for kids of all ages to perform. The kids are given a situation and have several weeks to come up with a skit, costumes and props. They get NO guidance from any one. I could not even give suggestions or hints. This is completely their ideas. They have to build their sets and make/buy their own costumes. They are only allowed to spend $25.00 of their own money. Emily's team came in 4th. Only the top 3 teams move on to State competition. Better luck next time!

Breathe!

Yes, this is Jeremy's room and if you know me then you know that I am trying really hard not to scream. I hate a messy room but Jeremy assures me that he is working on a school project. You can see from the picture that he has no problem with the mess. I just want him to get up in the middle of the night and step on one of those Lincoln logs.
