Jeremy has been wanting to go here for a long time now. After being rudely awakened at 7:00 by someones car alarm we drove the hour down to Canton and spent a few hours checking out the museum.
I thought this was the Heisman but it is a statue of Jim Thorpe. He is from Canton and the reason the Hall of Fame was built in Canton Ohio.
A couple of football greats.
The next pictures are of the inductee's. Each year a bust is made of the inductees and added to the room. Jeremy picked some of his favorites to take pictures of. They include:
Vince Lombardi
OJ Simpson, Joe Nameth and Roger Starbach
The top one is Mean Joe Greene
Mike Ditka
Mel Blount and Terry Bradshaw
Joe Gibbs. I took this one because not only is he a great football coach but he is a great NASCAR owner.
John Elway and Barry Sanders
Dan Marino and Steve Young
John Madden
Jerry Rice and Emmit Smith
Just as a reference a size 25 is the same diameter as a 50 cent piece.
I think this was Troy Aikman's helmet.
Emily for some reason liked this quote. I would agree after we learned all about the cost of a Super Bowl ring.
Did you know that this is the actual trophy that will be handed to the 2013 Super Bowl winner? That's right, each year when the trophy is awarded to the winning team a new one is placed on display until the next year. These trophy's are made by Tiffany, yes, that Tiffany, and they cost $25,000.00
